what's the use of the general? if i have a general lvl x why is good?

please check the faq before posting...this is at least the 3'rd question you ask that is answered in the faq

8. What does the general do?
A: He is the elite unit of your army. You can send him along with an army when attacking/raiding/spying a town. If there was a victorious attack, he will gain a level and increase in his skills. You can always promote another unit to the rank of general, but it will start from level 1.

elite = better ... so it's a normal but better unit ...and with each lvl he gets better
